I'm also not so sure I buy into this "he thinks he's a serious filmmaker" theory, either. One would think that if he's trying not to make those "non serious" projects anymore -- almost as if he's embarrassed by them and wishes to disassociate himself from them -- that he wouldn't even want his name to be associated with them, no? I mean, why would he put his Executive Producer name on projects such as Monster House and the Jurassic Park sequels? One could argue that if he weren't trying to be a "serious" filmmaker that he would actually DIRECT said projects, but I actually believe that he picks projects that will challenge him, not necessarily because he's trying to gain respect. Or, can it just be that making the so-called blockbusters bores him to tears?

Also, Munich was my top film of last year.
