Meaning, do you think or did Hirsch try to argue, that there is some artistic value to the work? Or is the point just to "challenge" and gross you out?

I've always hated edgy for edgy sake. I also hate stuff that poses to be deep/artsy when its just, IDK, shockvalue.

IDK, I think a lot of 70s stuff in art, especially in film, took advantage of the disorientation caused by the 60s and was posing to be deep when it really wasn't all that deep.
