>1-A Serbian Film
reading the wikipedia synopsis of this when everyone first talked about it was more than enough for me.
>2-Salo (120 Days of Sodom) >4-Cannibal Holocaust* >8-Nekromantic
rented these at the local video store in college. salo i thought was stupid. i understand this, like ASF, had a POV. this was where i started with pasolini and where i left off for many years. nekromantic was dumb as well but had no such point, from what i remember. CH i legit liked even though i feel guilty about the poor turtle. it's a sleazy film, no sugarcoating it.
>6-Antichrist
definitely disturbing, and i'm relieved a bit to see it ranked on this list.
>10-Martyrs
nothing's convinced me to see this. i watched salo because it was both notorious and had a legendary director. CH is legendary and influential, for the worse. nekromantic was schlock, the type that video store had plenty of for date night. (we also rented "2 psychos in love," and the store clerk got irritated with me: "it's 'psychos in love.'")
