the character Jamie Hector played wasn't as square as this detective is. J. Edgar was was more smooth that this detective is. I'm assuming he's playing the role this way to serve as a counter to the corrupt detectives in the squad the show in based on.

On the one hand, I can understand the reason to have the character portrayed that way, but on the other hand, I'd like the character to be played with a bit more nuance.
