I actually don't remember the old show much, although I vaguely remember watching it (that and Muppet Babies).

The nonstop cameos and name dropping was just way over the top... I get wanting to make an impression with the first episode, but I hope it doesn't continue this way. The muppets have more than enough personality to carry the show, let the cameos be a special treat here and there.

I do want to continue watching though, let the show breathe a bit. There were some genuinely funny bits, and I was ROLLING at all of Kermit's facial expressions.

Hopefully it finds its stride Parks and Rec style, and really finds its voice once we get past the main Kermit & Piggy arc.
