I liked them both quite a bit and they're both surely tops of the year.

Sin Nombre was pretty fantastic. I've read that the director was going for an anti City of God feel...which I think he did pretty successfully. Similar themes minus the flash.

I must admit Sugar fell a bit short of what I had hoped for, though I can't exactly say why. Some great moments, but I was getting bored and fidgety towards the end. I'm thinking this may improve with a second viewing devoid of absurdly high expectations.
