3053061, Went to their Made in Durham block party in ‘23 Posted by DJR, Wed Oct-07-26 08:35 PM
and they opened with this one. They dropped this and Glory Glory a few weeks before that show. Good times. Glad I made that show. I remember planning on seeing them on tour in 2019-20 and COVID cut it all short. Promised myself that once things opened back up, I was going to get to all the shows I could from my long time favorites, while they’re still doing them.

3053063, Had the same COVID situation but saw their "makeup" show in 2023. Posted by Brew, Thu Oct-08-26 09:42 AM
I went alone cuz the people I originally planned to go with couldn't make the make up show. It was actually great going alone, I was able to lock in on the music without distractions.
Also saw them last year at BAMS fest in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood. This show was pretty short as they were part of a massive lineup but they had billed it as part of their "final tour" so I couldn't miss it, especially since I lived nearby. Took my wife and daughter to this one and my daughter was dancing her ass off lol. So fun.

I saw them alone every time - agree with you that it can be the way to go for concerts. I saw them in Durham opening for Sylvan Esso in ‘22 then again at their block Party in ‘23. Went to Pooh’s To Dream In Color show that featured most of the J League in Raleigh in 22, plus saw their show in Raleigh in ‘25. Seeing them 4 times in their home region, I met a handful people at those shows that I saw at the later shows too.
Also saw them in Brooklyn in ‘23. Basically made it to as many as I could, and also got to see other favorites like Skyzoo, Big KRIT, and Kooley High on those shows, so it was well worth it.
Still want to see Tanya Morgan though, next time they do shows in a city I can get to easily, I gotta make that happen.

3053068, Nice. Posted by Brew, Thu Oct-08-26 02:11 PM
Yea I've since seen dozens of shows alone. It's sorta my go to move at this point. And I'm never happier than when I'm there just taking it all in, meeting the acts, chatting with other mega fans, etc.
Yea Skyzoo was LB's opener at the 2023 show as well, which was dope.
At last year's BAMS Fest show, LB was preceded by hometown hero EdOG which was dope.

I went to the Durham block party joint as well. Great seeing Nicolay in the crowd enjoying the show among the people.
The last show in Raleigh was off the chain to.
One thing that we can all appreciate about LB was their consistent quality of releases. You could count on them being dope and enjoyable releases.
Peace, Doitall76

Yeah, Nicolay was also at that Raleigh show as well. I saw Median at the Block Party too. DJ Wally Sparks too, who used to post here.

Agreed, and that makes the music hold up. I can still play and enjoy all their releases.

3053116, Related: Charity Starts at Home vinyl just came out Posted by DJR, Sun Oct-18-26 11:01 AM
Back when the album dropped, I got the CD and wasn’t into vinyl. So I’m happy to pick this up.
Curious when/if Phonte will make new music? He’s put out vinyl for past projects a few times in the last year or so, and has been DJing - seems like that’s the focus now.
Pooh has said he’s working on new music. They’re both doing newsletters now to share what they’re up to and not dealing with social media algorithms and such.

Thanks for the update, and here’s to Phonte releasing new music in the near future! A true master…

I have it on CD somewhere as well. Psyched to have it on wax. Terrific album.
