OutKast Is Dropping Deluxe ‘Stankonia’ With New Bonus Tracks


The release coincides with the album's 25th anniversary and the duo’s Hall of Fame induction.

Big Boi and Dre of Outkast receive platinum records for their release of 'Stankonia.'



OutKast is dropping a deluxe edition of their classic album, Stankonia. This new release is in recognition of the album’s 25th anniversary and also coincides with OutKast’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.

According to Consequence of Sound, the deluxe edition is due out October 31 from Legacy Recordings, and it is a three vinyl set that will also include three new bonus tracks: “Speed Ballin'” (released on streaming platforms for the first time); remixes of “B.O.B.” by the Beat Bullies and Cutmaster Swiff; and “Sole Sunday,” which features Goodie Mob.


A mafioso rap masterpiece; featuring a legend-building appearance from Nas, impeccable production from names like Buckwild and Dr. Butcher, and the Kool Genius kickstarting one of rap’s great second acts.

On October 2, in collaboration with Ceremony of Roses, OutKast will release more limited edition merch, including t-shirts, a hoodie, a cap and a poster. This includes two limited edition t-shirts, a black tee featuring a neon-inspired Mount Rushmore-style graphic of OutKast, and a charcoal tee with an image of Big Boi and André 3000 from the original Stankonia photoshoot. In addition, fans can shop a range of new products, including a black hoodie, and a corduroy cap. These items will be available for pre-order on OutKast’s official merch store. The album is also packaged with new alternate cover art designed by André 3000 twenty-five years ago.

Legacy and Sony are also launching the “So Fresh, So Green” initiative. Taking place October 29th, fans in Atlanta will gather for a community recycling drive at the Headland Delowe shopping center.

Released in 2000, Stankonia would go on to become a landmark both critically and commercially in OutKast’s discography. The duo’s fourth album would earn two Grammy awards and sell upwards of four million copies in the U.S.; and it also featured OutKast’s first No. 1 single, “Mrs. Jackson.”

OutKast will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 9.

Those came in the Napster/download/CD burning days, which stopped me from buying whole soundtracks for 1 OutKast song.

I’m guessing it came from here, but I’ve had an OutKast B-Sides, Remixes, Guest Appearances folder for 20+ years, that stays on my phone.

It’s cool that they’re on streaming though. The B.O.B. remixes are surely new to me, so I’m excited to listen to those.
