And I love the song. But that last line was heavy handed.

So maybe that explains why he felt he needed to include the explanation at the end. It was so much newer then.

There may be others but I can't think of any at the moment.

I feel you 'bout "I Used to Love HER", because to me, "I Gave You Power" would have been perfect without the giveaway line.

I need to think on some other examples.

I think the screaming on Ego Tripping was a big reason why I avoided that album for a few years lol. Especially when The Roots had done their version and I went back to listen to De La's I did not get it. With time that changed and after seeing them live I totally get it and enjoy it but it does give me pause on playing it for others.

I know the peeing sound always bugged me and would distract me whenever the song would come on.

Personally, I never minded it the screaming at the beginning of Ego Trippin’. Later, I really learned to embrace it because it was an easy way for me and my kids to crack up in the car and get them involved in a fun way.

As much as I am okay with the screaming in Ego Trippin', the screams and moans on Pawn Stars makes it a little challenging to listen with the kids in the car.

Like, one or the other would have worked. But with him doing essentially the same schtick on every song on "To East Blackwards," eventually it was like "Enough already!"

Man, that Big Boi verse is out of place. Still love it on its own, but it doesn't fit the theme at all.

I absolutely love Mainstream to the point it may be my favorite Kast song but I think Big’s verse is off on that joint.

Aggressive misogyny in new music (I seem to be completely fine with The Chronic and Death Row-era music. But let j Cole get ign'ant and I'm on to the next track. LOL)

I have no idea who made the executive decision not to include that song yet have that sex skit and the Funk Flex skit.

Those two tracks derail that entire album for me.

Red & Mef have a line on each end of "Left & Right" ("Liar liar, set your p***y on fire"/"F*** 'em, leave 'em...") that, to me, throw off not only the vibe of the song, but blemish the album as a whole.
I get that the song is supposed to be gritty and "nasty" in some ways...D' says some stuff in his verses too...but the way Red & Mef did it was over-the-top and lacked D's finesse. Those lines have definitely stopped me from putting Voodoo on in some people's company.

There have been some songs lately that have weird sounds that I can't tell if they're on purpose or if it was something from the sample. I think Joey has a track that has a sound like Windows booting up. Or this track has a metronome beep that doesn't really make sense to my ear.

Organized Konfusion's Equinox suffers greatly from this. Its tragic on the CD, and streaming versions. can't remember if this occurred on vinyl

Maybe the only blemish on that album, to me.

This Jay-Z track In My Lifetime has such a mellow cool flow to it... and it ends with as vile of a skit I can think of that's supposed to be funny. It reminds me why it took years for me to mess with Jay-Z. All speaks to his present growth.
