Ronnie Foster's Mystic Brew is one of the first (possibly the first) uses of a 3 bar loop sample, instead of the common 2 bar or 4 bar loop, for a major Hip-Hop song. Which was revolutionary in itself. This influenced Dilla immensely in his technique going forward later. Cats like Moka Only use NOTHING but 3 bar loops for 98% of his beats. Q-tip and his genius was waay ahead of his time.
