3035091, New Release Friday 2021-10-08

Haven't dug around too much because:

BADBADNOTGOOD - Talk Memory

!!!!

Half of these tracks feature Arthur Verocai man!!! Plus Karriem Riggins on one track, Brandee Younger on another! Listening now and it's definitely hitting the right spot.

What else is out there? Catching up on anything from the last few weeks?

IV

I've needed a reason to get back into them.
And an album with Arthur Verocai is a GREAT reason.

Nubya Garcia must have a remix record of SOURCE coming out. Last week she dropped a Georgia Anne Muldrow remix of "Boundless Beings" and this week she put out a remix of "Together is a Beautiful Place to Be" done by Nala Sinephro. Both are dope.

Speaking of, that Nala Sinephro album (Space 1.8) is GREAT -- sitting in a really interesting space between jazz-ish improv and ambient. One of my favorites of the year and totally unexpected. Looks like it will get another vinyl release soon, too:

And in a similar space (possibly but not quite, lol), Bonobo announced a new project and dropped a single, "Rosewood". New album is called Fragments but isn't set to release until January.

Lastly, Makaya McCraven has given us three singles so far from his upcoming "Deciphering the Message", out in November. This is basically him raiding the Blue Note archives but then incorporating his own material/performances. They're all great and have me wishing this was coming sooner.

Sunset/Son Set: https://youtu.be/PV_NruYqHa4 (w/Jeff Parker on guitar, always a treat)

Alchemist - This Thing of Ours pt 2,
Guilty Simpson & Gensu Dean - Ego
Curren$y - Still Stoned on Ocean

And badbadnotgood's new one makes for a busy release day for me.

I don't like the beat anymore because its just a loop. ALC didn't FLIP IT ENOUGH!

Flip it enough? Flip these. Flip off. Go flip some f*cking burgers.(c)Kno

Lute - Gold Mouf
Sean Boog - It’s Midnight Somewhere 2

Both are exactly what I wanted and needed.

Will definitely check out that Alchemist, and maybe Curren$y too.
3035114, Super beautiful and nostalgic track from Wax dropped
