It’s not going to work the same because of The Roots set-up. Black Thought isn’t really involved in those production credits. So it’s just not going to hit the same as a ghostwriter playing a song would. AT ALL.

That’s fine. Roots still don’t have enough popular records for a 20 v 20 when we are adding in Lauren and Clef solo. Let’s not act like Clef won’t play some Shakira shit.

I just wish y’all would be honest. Outside of You Got Me, what can The Roots really play that could get a win? Honestly. When we go record for record it’s a popularity contest at that point.

And guess what, The Roots can play You Got Me and Lauryn can go to something like Ex-Factor and still take that round.
