Gangsta-est Of All Time

it always impressed me how E had the nerve to drop the verse he does smack in the middle of some of the most intricate and advanced emcees ever. everything about it is so basic, *especially* compared to Bone. I used to laugh at it, but now I gotta respect it for the sheer gall on display.

“Now my game is tight/tight as fuck is my game”

I mean, half the verse doesn’t even rhyme (which makes it all the more gangsta)! perfect example of how attitude will take you a lot farther than you could go otherwise. life lessons from Easy-E.

But is Easy-E the first 'swag' rapper? As someone who got by on personality and boldness rather than skill?
3028846, I'm far from a Hip Hop historian...

but that's a really interesting theory. obviously, lyrics and flow weren't his strengths.

3028863, No that would be MC Hammer.

Most gangster MCs wore the same attire and looked the same:

Khakis, all stars, white sox, raiders or la King hat, chuck taylors- starter jackets, etc
