Early Midnight Star is worth looking into if you haven't. Most people overlook their first couple of records. Two In Love was a nice joint from that time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLg9_5e6sho
Their career began around the time of most of the records you mentioned before they became major players in the breakdance era.
Also some Con Funk Shun, Spirit of Love album especially.
