The video is short but Snoop goes into the backstory of the making of Still DRE. He touches on his respect for Jay and how his respect for the craft of writing motivated him to get better.

Just listened to Still D.R.E. and you can definitely hear JAY-Z. Crazy....

werd.
3027074, In my head I can hear that whole song rapped in Jay’s voice

Even though that’s obviously something I’ve never actually heard.

Ever since I learned that Jay wrote it, I can’t “unhear” it.
3027069, I’ve engineered some sessions where I prayed for this

Listening to the same beat from 6 PM to 6 AM, looking at the door like, someone has to come in with the magic lines to speed this process along.
3027075, i'm surprised a lot of people are just finding this out in 2020...

...i'm pretty sure this post is more about it only taking 30 minutes ..but Jay was credited as writer on the vinyl back in 1999

3027077, LOL yea everytime this comes up I'm like ..

.. "there's STILL people who don't know this ?!"
3027170, lol.

I probably knew this in 2005. But I can only hold so much....

3027164, Yeah. I knew Jay wrote the song
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Mon Sep-28-20 12:43 AM
Although I didn't know he also wrote Snoop's verse. That was new to me.

And it was new that Jay put everything together so quickly. But he assembles his songs quicky, right?
3027168, Snoop doesn't have a verse on that song.

3027174, hook

3027181, Right
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Mon Sep-28-20 11:24 PM
When Snoop said Jay wrote his verse I was so in shock that I didn't remember that Snoop only did the hook on the song.
3027182, i wonder if he had already wrote a song called "STILL JAY"
Posted by My_SP1200_Broken_Again, Tue Sep-29-20 07:41 AM
...and Hov just switched it to "DRE" and added some Dr. Dre references in there to personalize it on the fly???

3027206, LMAO!!!

3027078, I've been wondering in Jay wrote Dre's verse on No Diggity, too.
Posted by Teknontheou, Wed Sep-23-20 08:27 PM
3027165, Yeah, I wonder about that because the verse sounds dope.
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Mon Sep-28-20 12:46 AM
Which, of course, is a sign that Dre didn't write it. Ha.

Someone could make a really good YouTube video that touches on Dre's ghostwriters over the years.

I assumed maybe Nas was ghost-writing by then too.

I always trip out that Jay and Sauce Money allegedly wrote a bunch of Puff and Mase’s stuff. And things went sideways around Volume 2 and Jay basically outed Mase.
3027230, Really ?! Got a link for this ?

Ride or die was the most blatant one I remember.
3027169, Also, he rewrote the verse because the first one didn’t fit Dre
