it helps that their skits have been such a big part of their story, though. i agree that the vast majority for other artists could be dropped and most albums would be the better for it.
(edit: LB's skits are actually engaging/funny/thoughtful, too -- i still listen to most of them and laugh; that's outside the norm for sure)
i'm also pretty tired of spoken bits from interviews/field recordings/movie snippets -- they can be really effective when used well but most of the time they have limited replay value, especially when their being used to make a larger cultural/political statement. skyzoo's retropolitan had only 1 flaw and that was putting two of those things IN A ROW, AS THE OPENING OF THE WHOLE ALBUM. totally unnecessary, minimal contribution to the record as a whole.
