The history is irrelevant. I didn't say a single thing about the history of hip-hop. I didn't say de la soul invented hip hop or whatever nonsense you are trying to imply that I said. I made a comment about my personal tastes. What exactly do you not understand about someone liking or not liking something?

History can and should enrich the experience of art, but it doesn't make you like something that you don't like.
