3024658, White women singers from overseas...

A lot them be sangin'.

No, I'm not saying only white women from overseas are the only white women that can sing but I'm realizing that most of the white women I listen to--and they are few--are NOT from the U.S. They're usually from Europe or Australia.

What's with that? Am I missing something? This is a serious, albeit an embarrassing question.

I recently came across this track from new Eglo Records artist Natalie Slade:

She's based in Sydney, Australia, and her debut album will be produced by Hiatus Kaiyote's Simon Mavin.

Now, let me name a few names...

- Coco O. from Quadron/Robin Hannibal (Okay, she's not the best singer but you get the point)
...speaking of Mr. Hannibal
- Rhye
- Amy Winehouse
- Alice Russell
- Jessie Ware
- Nai Palm from Hiatus Kaiyote
- Kimbra
- Henrietta "Etta" Bond (worked with SiR on his November album)
- Charlotte Day Wilson (Worked with Daniel Caesar. She's from Canada)
- Deborah Jordan (backing vocalist for Bembe Segue. Worked with Silhouette Brown/2000black producers Dego and Kaidi Thatham.

I'm not a fan of Adele, Joss Stone, but some will want to include them, too.

I almost listed homegirl from Moonchild but it turns out she's an Iranian-American from Seattle.

Hmmm.
