On November 15, Warner Brothers Music will return to 1999 with a Super Deluxe package that will be reissued on 5CD/1DVD and 10LP/1DVD box sets. Both sets will feature new remastering for the classic album, as well as deliver a collection of vault tracks, promo mixes and B-sides, and a previously unreleased live performance set from a Detroit show on November 30, 1982. The DVD will provide video for his previously unreleased live set at The Summit in Houston, TX on December 29, 1982. The boxes are rounded out with a stuffed booklet of new liner notes, detailed Vault Tracks notes, rare photos, and copies of the lyrics in handwritten form.

Warner Brothers Records will also release 4LP and 2CD versions of 1999 that include the original album, and the promo mixes and B-sides, all with 2019 remaster.

I want this but I know damn well this is going to be in the $75 to maybe $100 range on cd and maybe well over $125 on vinyl, anyways this well be a worth any retail amount they are going to charge; I just hope it won't be a limited edition amount cause it will basically just jack up price and availability will make me cry if it all ends up on ebay & discogs only.

I've read $69 for dvd set and $250 for the vinyl..of course thats no doubt suggested retail and they will end up lower.

I am actually liking this as much as the original. I didn't think that would be possible.

....looking forward to it, BUT i now think that the extra version of 'Irresistible B!tch' they have on this release ISNT the 'extended mix' of the officially released version that 15 said he once heard, but instead the extra version here is the original demo version (which is still an interesting version, but i do already have that version, though im sure my version isnt as clear as this will be)

but yeah....i still wanna hear the 'extended remix' version quest heard.

i know its been said before, but one thing i dont like about the 'deluxe official releases' is that they use up valuable space to include 'single edit' versions which, more often than not, are just cut down/shorter versions of the full length versions also in the package....makes absolutely no sense. there little or no 'added value' of including the 'edit versions'...i'd MUCH rather pay for alt takes extended mixes, dance mixes etc....THOSE are where the true extra fun lives....

...i AM looking forward to having a super clean copy of one of my faves from the vault, the seemingly under appreciated 'Do Yourself A Favor'....always dug that cut to death....

That's the standout track so far to me. Everything else is.....okay.

For me, any song that sounds like it could be on that Dirty Mind vibe is A-OK with me. And there were at least 3 of those on this collection.

Though I would rather see Parade and SOTT before this, if they ever do a deluxe Controversy, I hope the FULL version of "Hard To Get" (which is also on that vibe) comes out.

I forgot there was a "Tick, Tick, Bang" on that album, LOL. The only redeemable part of it is that the beat sounds.. proper for that age of sampling. the rest? Toilet.

And yeah, that "Controversy" era version of that song is definitive.

but that album NEEDS a remaster. I put on 1999 (OG) and it's OK. The 1999 remaster is AMAZING, IMO.

I opened it up to find a CD booklet with lyrics only. I sold it on eBay and now I'm going to put that money toward the the 5CD+1 DVD version when I'm not a funemployment budget. In hindsight, I should have waited and purchased the 5CD version from the jump. I forgot about the DVD and live Detroit (!) concert recording.

I really don't need this on vinyl. I have the original 1999 LP and that's good enough for me.

From what I can tell, these include the extended liner notes "by longtime Rolling Stone critic David Fricke, revered Guns N’ Roses bassist and author Duff McKagan, Minneapolis historian and radio host Andrea Swensson, and Prince scholar Duane Tudahl."

I copped this last month from my local wrekka sto the day before my governor shut down the state. I am pleased. The liner note booklet is 50-pages long. Good mix of words and images. ;-)

I got the 5 cd set. I got the 2 lp vinyl set for the purple wax and new metallic cover. Excellent cd sound quality!
