it's a left turn for him in terms of not being an album focused on rapping, yet it makes a lot of sense as a next step for him in light of stuff like "See You Again" and "Glitter" on Flower Boy. He is obviously not the greatest singer, but I think his limitations give the album a quirky feeling that meshes really well with the production (the beats here are fantastic). the vocal layering/arrangements/background vocals here are beautiful. I like the entire album, but really loving "Earfquake", and "New Magic Wand" right now.
