Maybe the first time I recognized what Hip Hop could be. The musicianship on that LP, was next to perfect...to me it was an ELEVATION of the art due to the instrumentation, presence of live instruments blended with sampling, scratching perfectly. All of which blended perfectly with Com as a multidimensional artist that talked about a broad area of topics, stories, etc....This is also somewhat of curse though, cause I developed this untouchable standard that I hope Com lives up to on each release, but I stay disappointed with his 3 past projects...It also made me go back and appreciate the Roots earlier projects more than I did when first hearing. After LWFC, my ears were tuned to better appreciate what The Roots were doing....
