Usually when an athlete drops a song or album it's following the latest trend and sounds wack as fuck but this shit goes

3004598, Yea you're right.
Posted by Brew, Fri Apr-27-18 11:20 AM
That's why it was such a pleasant surprise. He just did his own damn thing and did it very, very damn well. I gotta give this more spins to digest some of the content but from what I did take in on first listen, and judging the production ... this shit is flames. Very impressed.

Did we know that he made music previously ? Like did he ever divulge that he had a second hobby of sorts ? Cause if he just kinda picked it up post-playing career on a whim that's mega impressive. I mean it's impressive either way but just saying.

... released through LeBron's music label which I didn't even know existed ?

2018 ! 2018. What a time to be alive.
3004602, dude is easily my favorite guest that Desus and Mero had on...
Posted by Dstl1, Fri Apr-27-18 11:54 AM
he drops so many jewels in the extended interviews. Did not know he had this in his arsenal, though. Very impressive guy.
3004607, On my third listen and the only bad song is "i still love h.e.r."
Posted by Brew, Fri Apr-27-18 01:50 PM
As a Common fan I'm happy that MCs (funny to refer to Arian Foster that way, but alas) are still giving him props for the seminal hip-hop moment that was "I Used to Love H.E.R.", but artists really need to do a better fucking job honoring that track if they're gonna do it.

In any event I give Foster a pass cause the rest of the album is so so so so excellent. But that song stinks on all levels.

... my friend reminded me of the "B-Ball's Best Kept Secret" tape from the 90s, which spawned potentially the greatest collaboration of all time in Cedric Ceballos f. Warren G ... as well as a song by Dana Barros. Both featured below. What a world. Forgot this existed.

3004612, Dana Barros was a THOROUGH ass lyricist.

has some great spots, has some awkward spots. would definitely check for future work. some of these songs will definitely stay in rotation.

3033650, Mans is 2 for 2 !
Posted by Brew, Thu Jul-29-21 10:53 AM
New album "Bohemia" is *excellent*.

I think I like Flamingo & Koval slightly better but this new one is great, too.
3033652, Yeah I dig this one.
Posted by Hitokiri, Thu Jul-29-21 11:21 AM
I think I said it over the the GD new albums post, but he sounds like J. Cole, if Cole were a much more engaging rapper.
3033653, LOL yea that Cole thing he does with his voice sometimes ..
Posted by Brew, Thu Jul-29-21 11:28 AM
.. is actually my only complaint about his music. It's not always there but when it is, it's annoying. But like you said, he's much more engaging and his music much more exciting than Cole's so I can deal with it.
3033677, damn i had no idea either of these 2 albums existed.
Posted by Reeq, Fri Jul-30-21 04:03 AM
this shit is fly as hell.
3033679, I enjoyed both
Posted by mista k5, Fri Jul-30-21 09:53 AM
Not quite AOTY but definitely worth checking out.
3033685, Yeah he is. Didn't like it as much as the first i would say, but definitely real good
Posted by josephmurf2384, Fri Jul-30-21 12:03 PM
Cudjoe, High Roller, Crack Era & Love Gone Crazy are my standouts.
3033687, I agree - first album is more dynamic and has higher highs.
Posted by Brew, Fri Jul-30-21 12:12 PM
But this one is really good front to back.

Cudjoe, Higher Roller, Go Up, Crack Era, and And I Miss You are mine.
