During Phife Dawg‘s memorial service in 2016, André 3000 stunned many when he revealed that he and Big Boi had briefly spoke to the group about the possibility of an A Tribe Called Quest x OutKast album (it was to be titled A Tribe Called ‘Kast).
Now, during a recent sit-down with Hot 97’s Laura Stylez and Peter Rosenberg, Big Boi confirmed those talks. Even more shocking, the two groups had actually begun working on the album.
“Q-Tip flew to Atlanta with Ali Shaheed Muhammad, we all met at Dre’s house,” Big Boi said. “We got to the point of picking out beats for the album. Then, some kind of way, everybody started doing stuff, and then Phife… you know. It definitely was happening, though.”
Big Boi also revealed that both he and Phife worked on “a couple of songs together” that he plans to put out in the future.

But, with bragging about a "vault" of records, when legends are dying every other week/month, really pissed me off. Like, stop fucking holding on to those records.

Hov, please leave us 40 albums of unreleased material.
Wayne has at least 100 albums done ready to go.
The OGs should leave as much music as possible to preserve their legacy after death.

except in almost EVERY situation, the vaulted shit is vaulted for a reason. wayne aint even RELEASING amazing albums at this point, what makes you think his 100 vaulted ones are any better (outside of stuff that may have been recorded during that specific window where he was killin).
