and while I regularly listen to Double or Nothing, El Nino and No Pressure...to a lesser extent. I don't think I ever revisited Chilltown once after the initial listening period. Not sure why, either. I'm gonna bump it at the gym tomorrow.

I remember being so hype for that and the Pete Rock Soul Survivor 2 album around that same time period. Pete's album ended up being ok, but Erick's album knocked. Relentless was my favorite. "And this might be my last hurrah"....damn.
2973279, Great Album, I Met Him When This Dropped

I was already a fan of his music and albums, I got a clean promo, played it in the store every other day, it was pretty much what you expect from Erick, dope funky beats, him on his rhyming game much more, plus the obligatory appearances from Redman, Keith, & Sy (the Redman skit was hilarious as hell too).

A few weeks later he was doing a in-store touring for the album and I met him and one of the kats from the Wixtons, told him how dope he was and his music, got him to sign some EPMD and Erick Sermon vinyl album covers and that's it; he was pretty laid back, I asked him about the rumors of him jumping out a window, he said "c'mon son you know how it be with females and their boyfriends show up" LOL.

I remember listening to this album and thinking to myself that he was doing his best to go all the way in because it might be his last album. That made it a really intriguing listen for me at the time. I should go back and re-listen now to see how it held up to me.
2973378, "feel it" with the sean paul sample

was my fav. song summer 04 (i was 14 years old).
i remember Rap City: The Bassment used to stay playing the "Relentless" video the same summer and i used to love that shit, too.

i remember telling this to my homie's older brother that same summer and he clowned me "relentlessly" for not knowing that Erick was in EPMD (i was born in '89 and didn't grow up in a musical household).

legit listened to this album before any EPMD album and the homie's older brother was a big reason in me getting my shit together and learning my history. shouts to eric, lmao.

but yeah, i loved this album.
2973471, Listening for the first time.
