2954613, this is why I pay for Apple / Beats whatever radio Posted by High Society, Sun Jan-17-16 11:03 PM
subscription.
Can hear new popular songs on Ebro, Lowe's shows. Love the residencies by TIP, Dre, Drake, A-Trak, etc. Get recommended stuff by what I listen to.
But most importantly, Can stream albums in car. Listen to full songs and albums on computer at home.
And then when I like something strongly enough, I'll go cop vinyl.
This album is a definite purchase for me. He's a studio rat - he's everywhere, there's always new music. the NxWorries EP with Knx was great.
The preemo and Dre joint on Compton was supposed to be on Malibu from what I've read.
The production on Malibu is top notch - some filthy producers: Khalil Hi-Tek 9th Madlib
One of the next gen cats that I really like.
About to sidebar - could be it's on post but I'm here now... Grew up an Eastcoast head. Golden era blessed me with some of my favorite music of all time. Wasn't ever TOO HEAVY into west coast music. Liked Snoop, Quik, Dre's albums. Loved Ice Cube's first 3 LPs and Kill at Will EP. Souls of Mischief. Pharcyde's Labcabin tho initially checked bc of production.
But after that eh - wasn't really ever checking for west coast hiphop like that.
Until I fell in love with the beat music scene and instrumental albums, beat tapes, etc. A lot of that stuff comes from LA.
So while NY been slacking for quite some time I started to fall in love with some west coast rappers like:
Blu Kendrick and crew Quasimoto Vince Staples Though from Chicago, was living in LA, making music in LA when got hip to him - Jeremiah Jae. Please listen to Bad Jokes EP.
Anderson .Paak Jonwayne Nocando, founder of Hellfyre Club. Earl is cool at times. I'm a fan of Tyler's musical talents - maybe not so much his content. Dunno if Open Mike Eagle is from LA but was hipped to him. Shabazz Palaces, same thing - not sure if from LA but runs in circle.
Shute - even before all of them - Game whose made great work since debut.
West coast is in my opinion right now on top of hiphop once again.
Every region has it's reign and it's turn.
