2951090, What's R Kelly's DOPEST Album & What's His DOPEST Remix?
Posted by Kil, Sun Nov-29-15 11:00 PM

Plus you're in the mix for 60+ minutes of nuthin but R Kelly uptempo bangers! And in case cats don't have time to peep the whole show and wanna get straight to the convo, skip to the 36:49 mark and you're good money.

So my question for the boards is what's R Kelly's dopest remix, your fave slept on R Kelly song & what's his dopest album & why?

For me...I think his dopest remix was the Gotham City remix cause I hated the original song but I LOVED the remix. To me the bulk of R Kelly's songs he remixed were dope in the first place. The bulk of his remixes remind me of Black Moon's I Gotcha Opin remix & what I mean by that is the remix for that jawn was SO dope, you forgot about the original. But the original was DOPE as hell too and that's why Gotham City was his dopest to me cause he took a song I didn't like and made me love it vs. remixing a song I already loved and just made me love it more.

My fave slept on jawn is "Trade In My Life" off the self titled album. This jawn is SOOOOOOO dope. It's the PERFECT mesh of gospel, R&B and soul all mixed in one.

And my favorite R Kelly album is double album The R. It was just TOO many bangers on it. I LOVED 12 Play and it is what it is but if I had to pick one it would be The R.

Honestly, you should choose sparingly past the double red album, then celebrate happy people before kinda shying away from super ham embarrassing kellz that happens in the aftermath of his failed Jigga thing and the pee on girls tape. I maintain happy people is genius level cover band shit though.

dopest Remix "How it feels" Bump and Grind and believe me most artists would have had that as a single on a album not as a remix 1)

street dreams Kellz and Nas were lethal on that joint 2)

gotham city was sick 3)

Thank god its friday the Incognito Remix is sick that is so smooth and had he wanted to do either smooth jazz or Neo Soul than he would have owned it 4)

Slept on Songs

I haven't listened to it in ages because I don't support him or his music, but I remember liking it more than the original.
2951203, Best remix is Down Low Remix
Posted by Sleepy, Tue Dec-01-15 12:24 PM
I love Ron Isley's background vocal. It's my favorite part.

I traditionally don't fool with Kells, but dude does great remixes.

His remix album is with checking out.
2951268, his cover of "do your thing" with Mad Cobra is fire
Posted by mistermaxxx08, Wed Dec-02-15 01:06 AM
that cut and remake goes hard. Kellz was sanging on that one.

2951296, that R. double album was embarrasingly bad
Posted by u just mad u drive a bucket, Wed Dec-02-15 09:23 AM

3 or 4 great songs, another 4 or 5 listenable songs then the rest is garbage

if you want to hear R Kelly in his bag, go to the self-titled album. the whole thing is classic, even the cheesy Hump Bounce track is good.

2951350, I always felt this way about the 12 play album....
Posted by Record Playa, Wed Dec-02-15 08:52 PM
ALL the up tempo songs was corny borny.
With all due respect to the incredible slow jams on 12 play, that made all of us go buy that album.

but R disc 1 had a very good dose of uptempo grooves that could keep up with the strong ballads. but for those that dont dig R disc 1, it really dont matter.

disc 2 really wasnt needed. but to each it's own.
2951363, most of his shit is awful
Posted by shockzilla, Thu Dec-03-15 05:46 AM
and his good stuff is derivative of other, better artists.
2951427, how much do you get paid to tell lies?
Posted by mistermaxxx08, Fri Dec-04-15 12:42 AM
you just madd because Kellz stomps over turkeys you like and he might even allow your demo tape act be his warm up act
2951697, the R double album had some joints on it...
Posted by GROOVEPHI, Tue Dec-08-15 11:40 AM
half on a baby

man, that album was the real buffet. and i'm not an r. kelly fan, but that album had some joints.

then there's always joints like Home Alone, Ghetto Queen, did you ever think... etc, that just brings back memories for me.
2951312, body's calling remix is my favorite
