I get sick of ppl saying MJ wasn't a great songwriter.

He wrote billie jean.
He wrote don't stop till you get enough.

Who cares if he can't play instruments? George Clinton doesn't either.

I personally loathe prince vs mj debates because the two artists have
nothing in common, aside from being Black.

But MJ's magic is about more than his dancing and visuals.
He wrote great songs, sang them impeccibly, and he had a vision to make those albums have the sound he wanted.

Quincy, as a producer, doesn't make magic without MJ.
(as an arranger, that's another story).

MJ is not a prolific songwriter,
but he is a great one.



Why ppl insist on tearing down MJ or prince to lift up one or the other is
tired.

Both fans do it, and it is always dumb.

They are both geniuses.

Prince is a better songwriter.
But MJ's legacy would not be what it is based on the moonwalk and cool videos had he not been a fantastic songwriter.
