WTOP is an institution of sorts here in DC, relied upon mostly for their up to the minute nonstop traffic updates (traffic BLOWS in DC in case you didn't know)
Today they published a list of the Top 100 Hip-Hop songs ever, which is kind out of a surprise from them but I stumbled across it and wanted to share. I can't front, I actually think this is a pretty solid list - definitely one of the more eclectic ones you'll see out there. Thoughts?

2Pac only made one song better than Wild Thing?
Shoulda called this The Best 100 Rap Songs to Play at a Party For People Who May or May Not Actually Even Like Rap Songs.

People make a list of songs that have x amount of mainstream success relative to the year they came out and then they order those songs.
If a song doesn't hit that threshold of mainstream success then it isn't considered.
When I saw Empire State of Mind I was expecting to find NY State of Mind in the top 10.
but nope...not there on the list at all.
