Ambrose Akinmusire album on the first listen, which is odd considering that I really loved the first album I heard by him (which is his second) and love his playing on Gerald Clayton's "Life Forum", this album is in a completely different style so maybe it will grow on me. I like some parts of various tracks (the last gets pretty cool near the middle), yet to be honest there wasn't one song I dug on there entirely besides the last one, though I have to say, "rollcall for Those Absent" was chilling, mainly because of all the things that are happening in america and the fact that its a childs voice reading out the names of black men that have been killed by police, really left an impression on me....but yeah besides that kinda disappointed, but it is only the first time I've heard it lol
