2897612, Your favorite Bomb Squad tracks
Posted by -DJ R-Tistic-, Thu Aug-21-14 12:59 AM
All this recent talk about "Fight the power" has me wondering what y'all's favorite tracks are from them. I think it's wild how their beats had so much energy, hard hitting drums, soul, AND the right amount of noise to really set you off. It took me a while to get into their sound, since I got into Rap in 93, when their sound wasn't as dominant. I actually wasn't a fan of Amerikkka's most wanted when I first heard it, and preferred Cube's production on Death Certificate...but that sound makes a lot more sense to me now.

>Anti-nigger Machine

and the video is a top 5 PE video IMO (after Baseheads, Black Steel, Fight The Power etc). the Paris cameo, the extended verse... Flav acting a fool with purpose. I always found it funny that BET would play that video, but MTV would not.

Yet, "By The Time I Get To Arizona".... on MTV, but not BET.

I think G-Wiz did "Get The Fuck Outta Dodge". Apocalypse 91 was when they stopped using much of the Bomb Squad.
2897874, interesting. Video Music Box showed that video too.

At that time, my folks didn't have cable. I think I was 12 years old.
I just love how the song starts (with that machine-gun drum sound).
And I love they incorporated the sample from "Buffalo Gals".
