Hey. I just have some questions. I was looking at the booklets of some albums wondering what some artist names meant and what some terms meant. I recently revisited "The College Dropout" album by Mr. Kanye West and others and got a little concerned. I was revisiting the "Last Call" track and wondered what Mr. West was saying when he said "I'm Kon the Louis Vuitton don..."

What does "don" mean in that nickname? Can anyone explain what he meant after saying “the Louis Vuitton don”? Was Mr. West being sarcastic in the track? Was he questioning what kind of nickname he received in the track?

And recently I looked at the FutureSex/LoveSounds album booklet again and wondered what Three Six Mafia meant. What does the "Three Six" mean in that group name as well? I also recently looked at some information from "The Minstrel Show" album by Little Brother and others again and wondered what the artist name "Chaundon" meant. What does the "don" mean in Chaundon?

I've seen a few Tanya Morgan albums and I just started to wonder what the "Don" in Donwill meant as well. Then I looked at the "Lost and Found" album booklet and saw that the "Party Starter" track by Will Smith was produced by Polow Da Don and wondered what the "Don" in Polow Da Don meant. I tried to look up what it meant in a dictionary and at the Urban Dictionary source but got a little confused. The word "don" has different meanings.

In what way are the artists mentioned before this sentence using the word "don"? Hopefully the word "don" isn't being used in a bad way. Hopefully the usage of all this bad termanology ends permanently.

I also heard something very interesting in track 5 from the “Wake Up” album by John Legend & The Roots and I was wondering if it somewhat explained what some artist names mean. If someone could explain more about what was being said by Mr. Malik Yusef on their album that would be great. It was something about adding a “Shorty, a Money, a Mack, A Lil', a Eazy, or a Young to our name so all the big ballers grab rims and hung, in the game…”. When he is referring to the “game” is he referring to the hip-hop game? Is there something we should know about the hip-hop game?

Why do they call it the hip-hop game? Someone said stay away from the hip-hop game in an interview years back. I don’t remember who it was, but someone said stay away from the game. What game are they talking about? If someone remembers exactly where it came from that would be great if it gets posted. I just wanted to reference something from the track,”Two Words,” when Mr. Kanye West said,”…screamin, Jesus save me, you know how the game be, I can't let ‘em change me, cuz on Judgment Day, you gon blame me, Look God, it's the same me…”. I was wondering what he meant when he said “game.” Was he referring to the hip-hop game? Or some other game?

When rappers/MC’s use the word “game” what could it mean?

Can anyone explain what direction A$AP Mob or GLC are going in based on their artist name? Is it bad or good?

Is the group name,”Gang Starr” a bad group name because of the word,”gang”? I am not being disrespectful. I know things have happened with that group in the past few years. Just wanted to say R.I.P. to Guru. They’ve made some incredible jazz influenced music.

Also, one last thing. I recently saw that Lupe Fiasco tweeted something about a “20RakatMob”? Does someone know something about what it means? Hopefully it isn’t a bad thing. Maybe he could tell us more about it. Can someone ask him if he could explain what all of that means?

Has anyone else seen any other confusing artist names or have heard any confusing things an artist has said in records or interviews? Maybe we can all discuss it within this post more often.

I am not supporting any bad stuff with this post. I’m just trying to understand why some words are being used here and there and there’s not really any type of explanation. I'm just trying to stay safe and stay away from bad things. You know? Please continue to support only good music that goes in good directions like usual and please keep doing good things.

Can anyone please help clarify things? Maybe little by little? Thanks for any type of clarification. If any of this is clarified it could possibly help many stay away from bad things.

Why do you feel what their monikers are relate to things that are bad? Or the reference that may lurk in interviews, is what they talk about confusing, or is what they call themselves confusing? Or is it just amusing?
