he was washed up and it ain't like what he put out in his 30's was seeing him in his 20's and most folks who either liked him or use to dig him will tell you that he ain't counted since 88. yeah I know what diamonds and pearls sold and that was a fluke because nothing after came close to it.

and it ain't like the cat was aided by having soundtracks cover the bumps along the road of Lovesexy.

Prince was the same age as Rick James when he put out diamonds and pearls and you know good and skippy it wasn't nowhere near the quality or impact of Street songs. Prince didn't do no 8 million stateside. 2-3 million copies tops. and that was a fluke.

the warners brass milked that project and it still didn't do what they put into it.

i wouldn't be surprised if Warner Brothers bought over half them records because Prince was so gimmicky in the 90's at trying to comeback it was a bad joke.
