I first heard them doing a cover of 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins that I thought was a really cool version of that song. I'm planning on going to see them on Jimmy Kimmel too. Definitely a band to watch for.

... was invited to do cover some bands for the site (which is on major hiatus right now) and was waiting for Yelawolf to come out. Was walking around and I heard some fonky shit going and it stopped me in my tracks. Needless to say it was these guys, Bad Rabbits. They were too dope live. The band had a Roots type vibe to me, and the lead singer kinda struck me as a Saadiq type singer. I will be checking this out.
2805252, Its still funny to me how they're connected to that scene.
Posted by JG., Tue May-14-13 03:40 PM
I guess a few of them used to be in hardcore bands, but they'll still do a show with a heavy metal band or something and somehow it fits.
2805264, They used to be The Eclectic Collective
Posted by Auk_The_Blind, Tue May-14-13 04:38 PM
Which was one of the more prominent Boston bands in that vein of modern rock-fusion popular for a bit, taking cues from 90's "ska" groups to fuse the chuggity-chug breakdowns of hardcore with soulful singing and brass instruments.

I think I saw them in '04 or so at a jazz club in Cambridge with like... Medeski, Martin, & Wood.

2805271, The drummer is in a great post-rock band Irepress

They're pretty good too, but it's a completely different sound. It's heavier than most post-rock.

diggin it..

interesting that a common theme that you find on the net when you look for info on them is they are being categorized as R&B or post R&B....and being compared to some other newer artists...that honestly are not doing music that sounds as authentic as they do..

good looks...
2805713, Love their new album

Dude's voice can grate a little after a while but the project is well put together... props to Bay Area producer B Lewis on this.

Also read they have another album called American Dream that's produced by Teddy Riley
