Would you listen to this?

If not, what (specifically) is the turn off?

I'm not suspecting I'll get much of a bite, just doing some marketing research of sorts.
2796732, Yes, but not repeatedly

Its just not very energetic. Nothing wrong with banjo though. In the same general genre, I love these guys and this version of Tell it To Me: http://vimeo.com/9570767
2796734, Thanks, this is really good stuff!

weird that the banjo player appears to be strumming his 5 string with a pick.

And why's everyone under 30 playing acoustic music gotta wear one of those fucking hats?
2796741, I don't have real answers for either of those questions

Except, that by the time I bet they were hitting 30, and the band broke up, the hats were gone... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqwPRaI_p1g
2796743, at least they weren't wearing suspenders

which seems to be the other, less essential, part of the modern roots music uniform.
2796736, lol, you already know my answer to that

it's great, btw.

Like the drummer, I love guys who use simple percussion to add a lot to a song.

Those guys want a tub bassist, throw my name into the hat!
2796745, We're featuring them in the next issue

Digging into more youthful acts, but it's a hard tightrope to walk... Older folkies make Lessonheads seem like loving and acceptable people. Gotta find that balance.
2796754, old-timey seems like a safe balance

but looking at recent covers, it seems much more broad in the music it's presenting than I picture - of course, my picture is mostly based on reading from the 1950s and 60s when it was primarily driven by a certain political interpretation of folk.
