Sounds like Meek trying to make a Rawse song. I don't think it's bad in and of itself but I want Meek's songs to sound like Meek.
2749124, blah

2749126, straight comedy.

from the way meek interrupts legend in the first five seconds to nas' hilarious pseudo-intellectual ramblings:

nerf balls, i threw'em
but now i'm a perfectionist
like jesus
judging his own miracles
cuz he automatic

"pseudo-intellectual ramblings"?

Just sounded like he was talking random shit, to me. I mean, he mentioned Jesus and shit but
nigga definitely wasn't tryna kick knowledge or nothin'.

Dude doesn't like Nas (which is OK really...free country and all)

And he particularly champions minstrel rap...It is what it is...
2749238, Boring. And this the nigga y'all said gonna move 200k in one week?!

I like the song, I think it's put together well.

But is it just me, or did that Black Bar Mitzvah tape REALLY hurt Meek's buzz? Not talking about OKP, but online in general. I've seen blogs post this song and his video for "Burn," but they don't seem to really be buzzing.
2749316, you think so...I think that wack ass young and gettin it hurt em lol
Posted by Menphyel7, Thu Oct-18-12 11:51 AM
idk who idea that was.

Gunplay had the best song on the mixtape with "bible on the dash" his ass got a bigger buzz than meek off that tape.
2749348, seriously?

smh
i mean u feeling urself since KL album is good, obviously
but let's not be dumb here, meek millz might still outsell KL regardless if the album is as good or not
2749350, lol wat when did I become the KL champion over here

I listen to more Meek than KL prob change wit this new album unless Meek brings some heat...maybe he will. I just think with his talents hooking up with MMG and what his label he won't be able to do
what KL did.

Hopefully I'm wrong and he drop a gutter classic but that young and getting it got me scared...Gunplay does got the best song on the mixtape....they should have drop originally to capitalize off Amen. I don't know if he gain any more fans by waiting but maybe he did.
2749429, oh my bad. and i agree with u. i think meek album is going be a let

how can anyone put this cornball motherfucker on a track?
2749567, thank you.
Posted by PROMO, Fri Oct-19-12 10:42 AM
i SERIOUSLY do not understand how people like this guy as a singer...i REALLY don't get it and, while a bit of ego is involved, yes, i like to think i'm a pretty good fucking judge of r n b and this guy has ALWAYS irked the fuck outta me. not only do i think he's not a great SINGER but his voice is whiny and grating as fuck. like, some singers have a nice, original quality that sounds unique which maybe doesn't fit into a TRADITIONAL r n b sound and while i think that would be SOME folks argument...his voice DON'T sound good.
2749580, I kinda hate Legend's own music for the most part but he does have
Posted by Bombastic, Fri Oct-19-12 11:22 AM
a bit more grit/soul to his voice then expected in person when I saw him at The Troubadour with The Roots singing those old 60s/70s covers from their album together.

But him singing rap hooks about Maybach Curtains is nails-on-a-chalkboard, as is the limp-dick-cabaret-sounding stuff like 'Save Room' that he makes as a solo artist.
2749581, i have heard he's better live...
Posted by PROMO, Fri Oct-19-12 11:24 AM
but my thought would be like what did he put out on record that actually made someone wanna go to the show. LOL.

okay, i'm hatin, but i'm sayin.

Oh I hear you, I wouldn't have been caught dead there if I hadn't went thinking I was going to primarily a Roots show at the tiny & acoustically amazing Troubadour.

When I arrived it turned out to be a 75-minute-set of Legend singing lead on covers with The Roots backing him (but no Kamal & NO BLACK THOUGHT).

Musically it was still pretty solid but uh, yeah, not what I was expecting at all.
2749575, Terrible. Legend. Meek's Big Homage. The Maudlin Forced Triumphant Tone.
Posted by Bombastic, Fri Oct-19-12 10:59 AM
Whatever fat boy said about 'flex' & Milli Vanilli.

I'll pass.
2749584, had to skip forward to Nas verse
Posted by go mack, Fri Oct-19-12 11:34 AM

2749721, wow thats terrible!!!!John Legend? really?
