The first thing that was glaringly obvious to me looking over that list was how little the Digi Phonics have to do with it. They are IMO as integral to the Black Hippy 'movement' as the MCs. Everything else you've said is likely accurate but still in response to that.

They are to Kendrick & co. What 40 is to Drake. This may very well be good but it won't beat the three albums that preceded it. Bank on it.
