really I think DJ Joey Negro is one of the more versatile dance music producers out there...the Sunburst band releases certainly have disco-r&B feel to them but I've always dug the fact that when he does it..it doesn't necessarily sound like a current group or artist making a retro record as much as it sounds like an authentic record from a band from that era..

I'd say that being into this type of music over the last decade kept me enthusiastic about music in general... I mean yeah I still listen to rap/hip hop...lots of it....and even bump some mainstream so-called r&B...

but as someone who was/is a lover of traditional funk/soul/r&b/jazz type of music... there has been plenty of great music made in that style over the years that may be outside of the mainstream, but it's still hitting home...

It's at the 14:50 mark of the Jose James mix that DJ Spinna just put out.

The album is due out in January. The official "All Over Your Body" single on the 11th.

I have the acoustic version of 'Come to My Door' so am looking forward to hearing the studio version. I've tried to steer clear of the album tracks as I prefer to hear the whole thing when it drops. Loving the DJ Spinna remix too by the way!!
