Everyone has their own specific tastes, different MC's connect with different demographics. What I find bothersome is when kids try to rewrite history and pretend as if Guru was just along for the ride. Anyone who had been listening to Gangstarr since their inception would know that this wasn't the case. Guru established himself inside and outside of Gangstarr. Yes Primo had more notoriety but during his heyday Guru was able to connect with a fairly large group of people on his own. He didn't need intricate rhyme schemes to hold our attention. We were drawn in by his voice, his personality, and the subject matter of his rhymes.
