As handle would say, I'm going to go "Hula Hula" mode for this: Cecilio & Kapono's "Someday" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xD8n7KItBf8 Emphasis is on the chorus, which goes: "we got to do it (let's get together, do it again) All over again (let's get together, do it again) We got to do it (let's get together, do it again) Someday..." The song was released in 1975 on Cecilio & Kapono's second album, ELUA (Hawaiian for "two"), on Columbia Records . C&K were considered to be Hawai'i's Seals & Crofts, played tons of shows in California in the early 70's, including opening for Frank Zappa, before they were signed by Columbia for three albums. I select this for a few reasons. One, this song would be very much a part of Obama's youth, as C&K were on Hawaiian radio almost endlessly. The chorus is a way of saying "let's vote for him again", to help campaign for him once more, to do it again in the hopes of better days. So I select this as a reflection of his childhood in Hawai'i, and a great song that looks forward to hopefully four more years by briefly going back. It would be cool for James Poyser to recreate the string arrangement in the song too.
