2688921, I think it's OK Posted by Dr Claw, Sat Apr-21-12 03:14 PM
I liked WTT way more than I liked My Beautiful Dark Twisted Porcelain Toilet.
It wasn't a bad album, but I felt somewhat detached from the Kanye experience for the first time in a while. I don't know what it was -- maybe the beats. But I even felt 808s more than that... minus some cheese here and there, it sounded way more heartfelt. I'll go back to it someday, I suppose.
Now WTT was a fun album but Kanye wasn't "producing". However, 88 Keys and folks gave Kanye beats that sounded like his style, and of course Jay-Z was there along for the ride which made it seem just alright. If you think of it as a sendup of the nonsense we had in the decade prior, including their (Jay's) own work.... it really works.
