2685598, Future-PLuto discussion
Posted by Menphyel7, Fri Apr-13-12 11:06 AM
Look how far he has come from not being able to get in the video of the heat he made "racks on racks" he wrote the hook, had hte best verse, and I heard he wrote the whole thing...YOu see Y Chris done dissapered from the scence.

From being in Rico wades Connect group back in the day (yea he df affiliated) to writng hooks (blue berry yum yum by ludacris is one) til getting mad about beind disrspected in the racks video til takin over.

He killing the clubs and showed folks autotune is not dead but very much alive. Did his own thang and now has an Album coming out on a major..He still got hits that is not on the album i.e. ain't no way around, tha'ts my ho 2, watch this for example.

I think he'll be around for a while...I ain't really sat down with the album but from a quick skim it got some bangers that should keep him out there def not a dissapoint. I'll really see with the retail rip in the car.

I love how the album starts off with BIg Rube showing yall he still DF.
2685612, that boy got talent but i was expecting something more bombastic.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Fri Apr-13-12 11:21 AM
he writes the catchiest shit since drake came out

he's my most listened to artist right now. it cracks me up when i go to class and people be like "was that you bumping future loud enough for the whole campus to hear it?"

i dont even really count Magic, Tony Montana or Same Damn Time (yeah yeah yeah yeah!) cause they're holdovers. i wish he held back Space Cadets and Birds Take a Bath for the album.

the Kells track sucks (sorry maxxx)

Long Live The Pimp, I'm Trippin and Homicide are raw.
and i love the beat on Turn Out The Lights. Mike Will is doing his thing.

6/10 album. i was hoping for more swag (like Splashin or Pop Them Bands) and trap sounding shit (Out the Mudd, Smoke & Mirrors). maybe something where he actually kinda goes in like Old Hundreds

but his mixtapes been good enough to where i dont feel bad about supporting.
2685694, yea that kells track awful and it starts the album
Posted by Menphyel7, Fri Apr-13-12 01:49 PM
I guess cause he the biggest guest but it sounds like two songs mix together or somthing you can tell really tell they was not together at all. who is the other dude singing on the track.

Its def a good debut not classic but good effort hopefully he won't have to release so many mixtapes next time and can save more heat for his albums..but def a banging 1.5 will be made.

Yea MIke will has been killing shit it killed me Jeezy ain't put sittin low on the album.

yeah I"m def picking this up tuesday.

2687078, I'm conflicted about this dude.
Posted by unohoo, Tue Apr-17-12 08:39 AM
I'd say that he has a talent for making some catchy shit, but I think that has more to do with him repeating himself over and over and his super basic flow.

Didn't know he had all of that history with Dungeon Family, but his involvement with Racks (a shitty song that you can't deny) is not a feather I would put in his cap.

Tony Montana, kind of has the same appeal as Racks. Basic ass flow, hook repeated ad nauseum, over a menacing bass-heavy track, and *voila* you got a hit.

Magic is only made tolerable by T.I., but Same Damn Time is undeniable. As far as Future legitimizing auto-tune, his use of it is the worst kind. Like Ron Browz, (whatever that dudes name was) that one note auto-tune shit is the shittiest execution of that effect.

Like I told my son, (who loves this dude btw) dude is a derivative of a derivative, which isn't always a bad thing, but he doesn't have lyrics, and he doesn't have personality, the only thing he has is repetition, and that shit gets old quick.

All that said, I want to hear his album.
2687180, IT seems simple but he knows wat he is doing
Posted by Menphyel7, Tue Apr-17-12 01:41 PM
He has showed he is not just getting lucky he can make all types of songs and this album proves it

Homicide, pardaise, Permanant scar, turn on the lights, long live the pimp, same damn time

and alot more.

this is a great album and shows his range.
2687197, Burning a copy now.

2687081, side question about "magic" performed w/ the roots
Posted by howisya, Tue Apr-17-12 08:50 AM
on fallon recently

did ?uest play the beat (electronic drums?) or just the hi hats? drumwise, it sounded like the studio instrumental other than the hi hats, but maybe he was triggering those sounds?

also, kirk killed it

he not bad.
beats top notch, he's sense of humor is his strength (2chainz, young dro).
i liked he's verse more on jeezy's "way too gone"
i think all the features got him, but they're still good songs
compared to the other top 'xxl freshman' d.brown > future > french > don trip >

future has creative control and wants to make this stuff. even if it's not what his fans who know him for the trap stuff want. not a good comparison.

various cats from the crew, on mic and behind the boards, have expressed love for his attitude. his rap name comes from....I want to say one of the Goodie Mob calling him the future of rap music? it might have been one of Organized Noize, maybe Rico himself.
