Soulja Boy ain't even draw a fraction of the ire these dudes did.
Was it the lyrics? LOL. Like the lesson ever gave a fuck about misogyny.
Was it the song quality? Hell, we even learned to accept Lil B.
All I can think is they had two things some of the saltier older OKP's don't have; youth and talent.
