But this is all fairly consistent with the girl who made her first American TV appearance on the Grammys with a PE logo painted on the side of her shaved head & documented a UK Trayvon incident in the 80s with a song called 'Black Boys On Mopeds' on her biggest album.

She's not really coming from the American white-liberal/paternalistic perspective we might be accustomed, she's coming from the perspective of an Irish Bipolar Priestess who dabbles in Rastafarianism & who has consistently railed against the white male corporate power structure (while at the same time aligning herself with black artists & causes) since she first stepped on the scene.

Knowing a bit about her life, upbringing, & career I give her a wider birth on some of this stuff than others because I know it's coming from a good place.

That being said I had to bail out of that essay.
