for anyone who listens to Giles show you know he's leaving BBC 1 ...he's being doing themed retrospective shows the last few weeks..

this week's is his final retrospective show and it's the best one
yet IMO... good music to end the week with.

2677934, I'm gonna miss Worldwide

This upcoming tuesday/wednesday night is the last show, right?
Glad he's already lined up something else, and 3 hours no less.

2677937, 3 hours is gonna give him a lot of room to do his thing....

I just worry that the change will impact his access to the maida vale performances and maybe change his access to the underground type music he breaks.... hopefully not... I rely on his show probably more than any other source for new music and artists.
2677999, I didn't even think about that.

Those sessions are one of a kind.
His show is probably the only place where I can hear something new and something old that I've never heard before. The number of artists he's hipped me to - years before they broke big, in most cases - is astounding. Especially considering how hard it is to find some of the music he plays here in the states.

2678035, The reason for the move had to do with his format

not fitting into what BBC wanted for that station and time slot....

So I'm hoping that he's in the new spot to avail him the opportunity to keep doing what he's doing...and he gets more time to do it.

but you never know.
