i've had 2 or 3 these remixes from the producers for a while now
& their demo versions sounded infinitely clearer than these

the vocals on NoYork! were recorded pretty well, so everyone had clean shit to work w/
Blu went out of his way to make them sound like this,
so hes obviously tryna make a statement or stylistic choice w/ it

not defending it,
jussaying... its not a matter of recording quality, limited resources, etc.
