Waajeed was doing a lot of major label work around 2007 (Estelle, Jazmine Sullivan, Jaheim, John Legend, Raheem DeVaughn, Daniel Merriweather, Diddy/Dirty Money, etc...)

& this is one of the highlights

"Exclusive! Never heard before Cee-Lo x Waajeed collaboration. It was wriiten and demo'ed for the late, great Whitney Houston circa 2007.

The A&R's at RCA were calling any and everybody to find a sound for (what would become) her 2009 release, I Look To You. I worked on seven or eight different versions and finally deciding on this one - with additional parts done by Simon Katz from Jamiroquai.

As far as the lyrics go -- Cee-Lo nailed it! At the time, Whitney was still going though her very public separation with Bobby Brown - so 'Lo wrote the words for Whitney as if she was speaking directly to him.

I wish I would’ve been able to hear her wonderful voice singing these words, but for now - Cee-Lo will do."


i'm hoping this is a sign that Jeed's gonna start leaking all of the other major label stuff he was doing at the time
there's some real gems in there! (A&R's are the WORST!!)
