2658931, Is There A Group/Band/Artist That Only Has 1 Album You Dig?
Posted by Nick Has a Problem...Seriously, Tue Feb-07-12 11:14 AM
I'm listening to Fat of the Land by The Prodigy and realized that it's the only album I like of theirs. I've listened to the other four but they just don't cut it. Love Fat of the Land though. Is that the case for you with any Group/Band/Artist?

2658950, You didn't like Yeeeah Baby?

I know it wasn't Capital Punishment but it had some heat on there.

>there.

Key word is "some" lol. I liked less than half the joints on there. It's actually one of the worst cases of sophomore jinx I've ever heard. With the exception of "Watch Those", "New York Giants" and a couple others, this joint had no replay value for me.

2659724, the original, or the 2001 re-release?

The original. I mean, I have nothing against the blues based rock that populated his first few albums but I love the variety that was offered on Inspiration Information.

2659795, The funny thing about that album...
Posted by Jakob Hellberg, Thu Feb-09-12 11:54 AM
...is that many people's favourite songs on the reissue were the bonus-tracks placed at the end that was taken from his second album. Of course, the bulk of his second album is pretty ho-hum blues-rock but those tracks are good so it's like they created an "artificial" masterpiece/classic with the re-issue. "Inspiration..." without those bonus-tracks meanwhile strikes me as a bit half-assed with all the tiny instrumentals in the second half.
2660112, exactly what i was gonna say!

Why all the fucking aggressive Inspiration Information cynicism 'round these parts the past few years?

It's not flat out hate in the traditional sense —because a lot of you seem like you're aware that we know you know better— but I just don't understand how some of you people are acting like that album isn't as great as it is.

It's just simply one of the best albums of its era. When the reissue was released in 2001, a lot of you said as much.

Is this the backlash?

Because I don't get it.

everything before that ranges from bad to ok, everything after that ranges from ok to awful.

But Carter II is a gem
2659010, Feist--Let It Die

I REALLY wanted to love Metals and the Reminder, but there are maybe 4 songs between the two that I listen to. Let it Die is amazing from start to finish.
2659711, Air is another group where I only dig one album
Posted by Nick Has a Problem...Seriously, Thu Feb-09-12 08:15 AM
Talkie Walkie. They can keep the rest. I do like a few joints on Pocket Symphony though. The Duelist being my favorite.
