2657502, Sad Dance Songs
Posted by Br, Fri Feb-03-12 09:15 AM
I'm making a collection of danceable music with sad vocals. Any recommendations?
I'll share the results once it's done.

Every other song is about some girl who is in love with a guy who has multiple girls on the side, and she says she doesn't care.

2657925, Hey Ya by Outkast?
Posted by antoniovaladez, Sat Feb-04-12 11:50 AM
Back when that record dropped I use to play it out and I always thought I was the only one
who listened to the words (And no, not shake it like a Poloroid) but there was lyrics that stood out about "not being happy" and how the relationship did not work. Am I tripping?

had this on repeat for weeks when it came out last year
2658064, A few more that came to mind..
Posted by Original Juice, Sat Feb-04-12 10:39 PM
Aretha Franklin - "A Rose Is Still a Rose"
City High - "What Would You Do?"
Davina - "So Good"
Basement Jaxx - "Lonely"
Gloria Gaynor - "I Will Survive"
Jaya - "If You Leave Me Now"
Spring Love - "Stevie B"
Madonna - "Borderline"

Not really all sad sad songs, but they definitely give off a certain sad vibe to me, plus they make me think about things that I don't necessarily want to think about when I just wanna party. They all have very danceable beats, tho.

There's actually a lot of saddish disco, house, and high energy songs.. I think dance music producers understand that like laughter is the best medicine, dancing does wonders for the brokenhearted and depressed.
