got a lot of footage of him just playing that guitar

though Ray didn't say it, I remember reading that he was hoping that around the time of the AFTER DARK album that he could get Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to produce him, cause he was running out of ideas.

I kind of like that AFTER DARK album, and even the last one he recorded for many years, I LOVE YOU LIKE YOU ARE... he was doing more "Freddie Jackson"-type R&B, got off the weird crossover pop and it worked well with his voice, even though it didn't sell.

That song, "She Needs To Get Some" with Father MC is hilarious because he totally ripped off Ralph Tresvant's "Sensitivity" but flipped the lyrics into some hilarious "your girl ain't gettin broke off" stuff.

as for "Jack and Jill"... I dunno about Jack stepping out for another man; I just thought that song was about "Jack" stepping out on "Jill" cause she wasn't givin' him any play despite his best efforts to show her how much he cared
