He doesn't have the mic presence to be anything bigger than he is now. He'll be around but still in the background. He tried a pretty brave dichotomy in the types of songs he was making, but the problems were that the songs got less memorable as they went on. His early stuff (Children of the World, Hometown Hero, Something) is still his best to me. As a fan of his, he needs to step away for a while and come back when he's more inspired
